Many of Japanese double-handed players use
plastic spacers with Yomega Raider yoyos.(such
as Yajin and Osaru)
They say that using plastic spacers is the
best, since it sleeps long and get good looping
response at the same time. Try this only
if you are on the level where you can easily
do double-handed vertical punching bags and
crossover fountains. Also this setting is
very difficult to handle. It is almost impossible
to make yoyos with plastic spacers that react
exactly the same, since they all depend on
the conditions of the stars or how hard you
tightened up the gaps.
I will write down some of the techniques
to make plastic spacer raiders.
Caution!!
1.This mod can damage your yoyos. Please
do it on your own responsibility.
2.If you fail to mod your yoyos as you wish,
there is no other way to help you.
3.Usually, Japanese players break 4 to 5
yoyos before they get what they want. (tightening
the yoyos can break the yoyo sometimes).
However, you need to hear the yoyos crack.
4.Please do not send me any questions by
e-mail. If you need more help, please try
to study Japanese first!! (Sorry I'm not
a double-handed player. Some of the information
is from other Japanese site)
If you were successful making this mod, you are able to doc.
1. Around the worlds more than 10 times!
(because it sleeps for a long time) If you
are even more successful, you might be able
to do 20)
2. Well responding looping tricks. Also you
will have a good control of the yoyos.
Requirements for Plastic spacer Mod
1. Get plastic spacers. (you can get then
at www.yomega.com)
2. You should be able to do double vertical
punching bags or cross-over fountains easily
with your normal (raider) yoyos
3. Spend some time to see what's best for
you! (you should be able to find out your
OWN settings) And be prepared to break some
yoyos ;)
If you are not sure about them, if better not try.

You only need to get 4 plastic spacers(to
make 2 yoyos). You donft have to get any
extras because they tend to get used to your
hands as you warm them up. Plus there is
no ggoodh or gbadh plastic spacers so
no need to sort them out.

Plastic spacer(right) Metal spacer(left)
Select a short axle (brown?)
By using a short axle, which makes narrower
gap, yoyos tend not to break even when you
over tightened. Sand about 5mm of both sides
of the axle. (if you think your axle was
short enough, then you donft have to do
it)

3.Put the spacers on your yoyos

Please check star edge sharp one is best.(not
sharp one better to not select it)Not New
or Old
4.Drop some oil
Use thin oil when you use plastic spacers,
such as brain lube and Bandai maintenance
oil. (few drops)
If you want to increase the sleeping time
(such that to do more around the worlds),
reduce the amount of oil you put on.

The top one is a yoyo with plastic spacers.

7.Put on your string
Put a single-loop-ended string around the
axle.
When you use plastic spacers, its better
to make your strings a little shorter than
usual, because plastic spacer yoyos with
longer strings make the looping go upward.
It is easier to control the yoyos with shorter
string, however it all depends on the condition
of the yoyo.
Slick six is best of select(no need to brake
in your new string). When use normalstring
.First you puii it by strong power.
Some people sand their plastic spacers.
If you are unable to make good yoyos, try
to sand spacers on the bearing side.(about
2.23mm)
Sand from this side! (see the picture)
Sand this side
Around 2.25mm
Sand from this side! (see the picture)
Yo Body Out side
Yo inside
Some good players do sand, some doesn't.
Do whatever that fits you the best!
9. Done!
It might be not as good as you expect. Please
try to spend some time to figure out the
best way for you. And be ready to break some
yoyos! ;)
If you cannot understand cuz of my English
problem, or want to know some more details,
let me know by writing down to the message
board.
If you want to ask questions to some of the
Japanese players, please use easy vocabs
so that they will understand. (and in detail)
